no, it's not an icon community, but i made it so i get to pimp it. :]

also, no. it's not "horror" genre based. it's a community to complain about what bugs you about your favourite fandoms, whether it be people in the fandom, fans, whatever. i guess it's a fandom wank community. XD

over the weekend i received a rename token for my personal account Yaoi_chan, so i would just like to let you guys know that my new username is tea_and_opium. just wanted to save any of you the confusion that could be had if i didn't make this little announcement. c: it's still the same account, just different name. (Tea_and_Opium is the name i'll be using to post my icons to communities such as HerMajestyIcons, BeatleIcons, and what have you.)

hopefully some new icons will be in the works. this computer's acting really funny and it's subject to go back to the comp doctor for another look at it. :\ so we'll see.

also, new layout changes should be soon. not sure if i want to still go with the Salisbury plane theme, since i kind of want to stick to a "champagne" theme, so...

right, that's all. :3

i've had enough.

i can understand if some people here on livejournal just don't know how to credit icons. unfortunately, i don't happen to appreciate it when people come find my icons and take TONS of them without crediting.

i've come to a decision. my posts will from now on become FRIENDS ONLY so i can keep tabs on just who will be taking my icons. only promotional posts for other icons/whatever will be public.

yeah, they're just icons, but instead of going out and doing something productive out in town for leisure, i make graphics instead. so what i do with my time and effort means a lot to me, especially since my Photoshop program is taking up 200+ MB on my computer's hard drive. if i'm lucky, i can have up to a little under 2 GB of free space on my hard drive because my computer's memory is painfully small. i don't have to have Photoshop on my computer, but i choose to because i enjoy making icons.

so that's it. Champagne_Candy will become FRIENDS ONLY. my posts to Beatle Icons and where ever else will have notes that say "to see the icons you must add Champagne_Candy to your friends list."

i'm done with asking nicely. from now on, if i see someone using my icons without crediting, they will pretty much get a message saying "you're using so-and-so icon that i made but you haven't given credit to it. credit _________." i've even asked one user to give me credit and what did they do? try to post a link to my photobucket album in the comments box and added this so called "credit" to an icon i didn't make and left out an icon i DID make. another person never even said anything back to me and just deleted the icons i made from their userpics list. that's just crap.

if this sort of thing keeps going on, i'll just close this account all together. no loss for me. i can still make icons if i want to. i don't have to share them with anyone.

god, i hate being bitch of the month over this.

a friend of mine started this up last night and as co-maintainer (through Yaoi-chan) i want to promote it here. please take a look! :3

first off, i really do appreciate you people that stop by to this journal for my graphics, even when they're far from great and whatnot. honestly, i really appreciate the support.

unfortunately, it appears some of the people here on LiveJounal don't know how to honour a simple request from yours truly. it is painfully easy: please credit my works. no, i didn't take the original pictures used in these graphics, but i do take a lot of time out of my days to make these icons and to learn new techniques on improving my photo-editing skills. i'm no Photoshop wizard, but i do take pride in what i do with some simple pictures.

i only ask that when you upload an icon or two, credit me in the comments box. when you post up a friends only banner, leave a little note on your profile that i made it. is that too much to ask? if it is, then i may just have to cease in graphics making all together. what's the point if no one respects a few simple wishes?

so from now on, i will be adding this little note to every graphics post i make:

if this can't catch the attention of people that stop by to snag some icons, then i honestly don't know what will. i'm really tired of people taking my icons without a word of credit. i just thank god i haven't found someone who said they made my graphics. at least, i haven't discovered that sort of thing yet.

so please, i ask very little of you in return of full usage of my graphics. i'm not saying everyone doesn't give me credit. hell, a lovely person asked to use a banner and icon i made on a message board they were a part of, and the darling even gave credit on their message board signature. i didn't ask for it; they offered it.

in a nutshell: PLEASE CREDIT MY ICONS/BANNERS/WHATEVER. because whether intentional or not, not crediting me is rather insulting to me.
